One person dead, two injured following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — One truck driver was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving three semi-trucks on Interstate 75 this morning.

The collision occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on the southbound off-ramp at State Route 81. Authorities have not released details on what caused the wreck.

One of the trucks caught fire, prompting a response from the Bath Township Fire Department, with assistance from Lima and Perry Township crews. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and helped recover the other two drivers.

The conditions of the surviving drivers have not yet been released. The southbound lanes of I-75 near the off-ramp were closed for approximately three hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
