OHIO — A woman was killed in a Youngstown apartment overnight, marking the city’s ninth homicide of the year.
Police responded just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday to the 2600 block of Tyrell Avenue on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman dead in her apartment. Her identity has not been released.
Authorities said another woman was arrested in connection with the incident and is expected to face murder charges.
Youngstown recorded 22 homicides in 2024. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
