OHIO — Detroit man was arrested earlier this week after deputies said they found more than 200 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.
According to Portage County Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski, 26-year-old Jaylen Davis was pulled over on Sept. 3 for minor misdemeanor traffic violations.
Deputies reported noticing several “criminal indicators” and brought a K9 to the scene. The K9 alerted to narcotics, Zuchowski said.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a vacuum-sealed package containing about 223 grams of methamphetamine.
Davis was taken into custody and is facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.
“Every time we take drugs like this off the highway, we prevent them from reaching our neighborhoods and harming our families,” Sheriff Zuchowski said.
