One person dead following motorcycle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A 55-year-old motorcyclist died Monday morning following a collision with another vehicle in east Columbus.

The crash occurred around 11:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of East Livingston Avenue, according to a public safety dispatcher.

Police said a Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Mitchell Jacobs, was traveling west on Livingston Avenue near Rhoads Avenue when a Volkswagen Passat attempted to turn into a private drive, striking the motorcycle.

Jacobs was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and pronounced dead at 12:16 p.m. The driver of the Volkswagen remained at the scene and was not injured.
