OHIO — The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports that 41-year-old Carl Cook of Springfield was arrested Wednesday evening following a traffic stop on U.S. Route 68 near Township Road 190.
Deputies noticed Cook’s vehicle had a loud exhaust and pulled him over after he turned onto Township Road 190.
Cook admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license, and records showed his license had been suspended for non-compliance.
Officers also observed signs of possible recent drug use. Cook told deputies he was taking an unusual route to find a bathroom after leaving a friend’s house in Bellefontaine.
During a vehicle inventory, deputies discovered a metal pipe with plastic, burnt foil, and a small orange chunk of an unknown substance. Cook was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The substance will be tested by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and additional charges are possible.
Cook received warnings for driving under suspension, failure to reinstate his license, and the vehicle’s exhaust defect before being lodged in the Logan County Jail.
