
KENTUCKY — A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Newburg Road Tuesday morning, police said.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to reports of a pedestrian being hit at the intersection of Newburg Road and Bishop Lane.
Upon arrival, officers found the man in the roadway. Emergency medical services arrived shortly after, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation shows a vehicle traveling south on Newburg Road struck the pedestrian as it entered Bishop Lane. Police said the man was not using the crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing at the time.
Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and called for help.
The victim’s name and age have not been released. LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
