KENTUCKY — A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning following an apparent standoff with deputies in Clark County.
Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. to the area of N. Houston Pike and U.S. 40 after a woman called 911 to report that a man was banging on her front door. She told authorities she recognized the man as her neighbor.
When she opened the door, the suspect reportedly forced his way inside her home while armed. The sheriff’s office said the man was naked at the time.
Deputies were able to safely evacuate the woman through a bedroom window. The suspect then exited the home and charged at deputies but was detained without further incident.
Prior to entering the neighbor’s home, the man allegedly went into the residence of a nearby family member, where no one was home, and appeared to fire shots inside.
The suspect was taken to the Clark County Jail.
