SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was injured in a shooting early Saturday morning at Collins Park Apartment Complex on Kirkland Terrace, according to police reports.
Officers found the victim lying near a car with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and under his armpit. First responders applied emergency aid, including chest seals, while waiting for an ambulance to transport him to a hospital.
A bystander told police a teal-colored vehicle was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting. Investigators reported finding a black handgun and blood inside the car, along with two rifle casings near the passenger side. The front passenger window of the car also had two bullet holes.
Police say the incident remains under investigation and have not released additional details. Updates will be provided as they become available.
