GEORGIA — A man is in custody while another remains hospitalized following an overnight shooting at an apartment complex in northwest Atlanta, police report.
The incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. Monday at the Neal Street Apartments, located at 700 Neal Street NW. Responding officers found a man with a gunshot wound who was alert, conscious, and breathing. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police identified 33-year-old Muhammad Rashadd as the suspect. During the investigation, authorities learned Rashadd and a female witness left the scene in a Toyota Camry. Rashadd later contacted police at Peach Street and Mitchell Street, believing he was injured during the incident.
Officers arrested Rashadd and recovered the weapon used in the shooting. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
