Police K-9 search during traffic stop results in large drug bust

SUMMIT COUNTY — An Ohio police K-9 located more than 60 grams of methamphetamine, along with other drugs and paraphernalia, during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

According to Springfield Township Police, officers pulled over an SUV in Summit County around 3:05 a.m. on Oct. 31.

K-9 officer Ryker was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted officers to possible drugs.

Upon searching the SUV, officers discovered 62 grams of methamphetamine, 24 Oxycodone pills, four additional pills, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was arrested and faces charges for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were transported to the Summit County Jail.
