TENNESSEE — One man is dead and another is in custody following a shooting early Tuesday morning at a motel in North Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Days Inn on Dante Road shortly after 3 a.m. Police say two men were involved in a fight when shots were fired.
When officers arrived, they found both men at the scene. One had been shot and was later pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts by firefighters, police said.
The second man was detained and is being questioned by homicide detectives. Crime scene technicians also responded to collect evidence.
KPD said the investigation is in its early stages and remains active.
