Ohio man sent to hospital following stabbing

COLUMBUS — A man is in critical but stable condition after being stabbed during an altercation Tuesday night in southeast Columbus, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police were called to the 6900 block of Gemstar Road, south of Tussing Road, around 7:10 p.m. to respond to a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found no victim at the scene. Shortly afterward, police learned the man had transported himself to Mount Carmel East Hospital.

Sgt. Joe Albert said officers spoke with people at the scene and determined the man was stabbed by an unknown suspect during an altercation involving a group of juveniles.

Although the exact number of juveniles involved is unclear, multiple individuals were detained.

The incident is believed to have started as a dispute among neighbors.

No charges had been filed as of Tuesday night.
