OHIO — A routine grocery store trip turned into a life-changing moment for one lucky shopper in Massillon.

The customer won a $1-million annuity top prize in the Ohio Lottery’s $50 VIP Millions scratch-off game after purchasing the ticket at Giant Eagle #4152.

The winner opted for the $500,000 cash payout, which will amount to approximately $360,000 after federal and state tax withholdings.

Giant Eagle #4152, located at 2032 East Lincoln Way, will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

There are still 31 top prizes remaining in the VIP Millions game, along with numerous other prizes. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 4.02.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education across the state. More information can be found at www.ohiolottery.com/supportingeducation.
