MASON — A 16-year-old girl accused in a brutal roadside assault in Mason has been indicted as an adult. Zoe Matthews now faces charges of attempted murder and felonious assault for her alleged involvement in the August attack along Innovation Way, near the southbound exit of Interstate 71.
The victim, an adult male, sustained significant injuries in the attack, which authorities say was carried out by a group using baseball bats.
Mason Prosecutor Max Kinman confirmed the extent of the victim’s injuries, while prosecutors allege that the group followed him from Colerain Township before confronting him at an intersection.
Five adults charged in the case—Derrick Floyd, Tiffany Parks, Britney Mathews, Corey Mathews, and De’Amber Mitchell—are each facing charges of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault.
Matthews is scheduled to be arraigned on November 15.
