VIRGINIA — Nearly a year after breaking ground, Texas-based travel center giant Buc-ee’s is set to open its first Virginia location on June 30.

The new store, located off Interstate 81 at exit 240 near Harrisonburg, will mark the company’s entry into the Commonwealth.

The Rockingham County Buc-ee’s will span 74,000 square feet and feature 120 fueling stations.

The store will offer many of the brand’s signature items, including Texas-style barbecue, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fresh pastries.

In addition to its wide array of snacks, meals, and drinks, Buc-ee’s is known for its clean restrooms, affordable fuel, and expansive retail offerings—qualities that have built a loyal following across the South for more than four decades.

The location is more than 125 miles from Montgomery County, making it roughly a two-hour drive for many in that region.

The company anticipates the new travel center will attract both local residents and travelers along the busy I-81 corridor.
