OHIO — A lucky Akron resident has claimed the top prize of $150,000 on the Ohio Lottery’s Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 25Xscratch-off ticket.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K #5598, located at 1526 S. Hawkins Avenue in Akron.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said she was in disbelief after scratching the $5 ticket and immediately called a friend to double-check it.

“I couldn’t process it until I got to the Canton office to make a claim,” she said.

After taxes, which totaled 28 percent in combined state and federal deductions, she will take home $108,000. She plans to use her winnings to purchase a home.

Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 25X is a $5 scratch-off game with a top prize of $150,000.

As of June 12, five top prizes remain in circulation.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education across the state. More information can be found at www.ohiolottery.com/supportingeducation.
