OXFORD — A 20-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being airlifted to the hospital following a crash in Oxford on Tuesday afternoon, according to Police Chief John A. Jones of the City of Oxford Division of Police.

Police were called to the scene at East Spring and South Main streets around 4:20 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 19-year-old man driving a 2025 Jeep Wrangler was heading westbound on Spring Street and turning left onto South Main Street when he struck the pedestrian near the crosswalk.

The pedestrian was walking eastbound on Spring Street at the time of the incident.

The pedestrian was airlifted by AirCare to the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured, and drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have played a role in the crash.
