
VIRGINIA — Two people with outstanding warrants were arrested Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, leading to additional drug and firearm charges.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies stopped a vehicle on Crestridge Road around 2:20 p.m.
The driver, 51-year-old Darian Tatum, was found to have an outstanding warrant from the City of Martinsville for attempting to defeat a drug or alcohol screening test.
The passenger, who initially provided false identification, was later identified as 31-year-old Stacey Biggs.
Authorities say Biggs was wanted in Patrick County for failure to appear and in Henry County for a third or subsequent offense of selling a Schedule I/II controlled substance.
During the stop, K9 Zajo alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics. Evidence collected at the scene will be sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science for further analysis.
Both individuals are now facing several new charges.
Tatum is charged with:
- Driving While License Revoked
- Possession of a Schedule I/II Drug While Possessing a Firearm
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I/II Drug
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Non-Violent Felon
- Possession of a Concealed Weapon by a Convicted Felon
Biggs is charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I/II Drug
- Falsely Identifying Herself to Law Enforcement
Tatum and Biggs were taken to the Henry County Adult Detention Center and are being held without bond.
