OHIO — A West Mansfield woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after Logan County Sheriff’s deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine in her vehicle, which was parked outside a closed business.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on patrol around 3:54 p.m. observed a gray Honda Accord backed into a parking space at the Brown Bean Coffee Shop, 13627 N. State Route 235. The business was known to be closed at the time.

The deputy identified the car’s registered owner as April Tuttle, 36, who is reportedly known to law enforcement and has a history of narcotics use.

When approached, Tuttle was in the driver’s seat with the door open, using a knife to remove something from her foot, according to the report.

Due to recent suspicious activity and thefts in the area, as well as Tuttle’s background, the deputy requested consent to search the vehicle.

Inside Tuttle’s handbag, deputies located a vinyl glove containing an unknown white substance. Tuttle claimed her sister had left it behind.

A separate clear container also held a folded paper with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Tuttle was detained at the scene. The suspected methamphetamine tested positive in a field test and weighed approximately half a gram.

She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
