OHIO — A Navy veteran from North Ridgeville is celebrating after winning the $100,001 Rolling Cash 5 jackpot with an Ohio Lottery ticket purchased at a local veterans post.
According to the Ohio Lottery, Brian C. bought the winning ticket at the VFW Post on Lear Nagle Road in North Ridgeville for the Wednesday, June 10, drawing.
A few days later, while at work, Brian learned that a winning Rolling Cash 5 ticket had been sold at the VFW. After checking his ticket, he discovered he was the jackpot winner.
“I leapt up and screamed,” Brian told lottery officials.
The winning numbers also carried special meaning. According to the Ohio Lottery, Brian regularly played the numbers 11, 22 and 38 while playing KENO with his cousin before his cousin passed away.
After required state and federal tax withholdings, Brian will take home more than $73,000. He said he plans to use the money to pay off bills and take a vacation.
Rolling Cash 5 is drawn daily and features a minimum jackpot of $100,000.
