NORTH CAROLINA — A motorcyclist was killed late Monday night after a crash involving a GoTriangle bus in Durham, according to police.
The Durham Police Department said officers responded around 11:44 p.m. to the intersection of Coach K Highway (N.C. Highway 751) and Erwin Road.
Investigators determined that Henry Winch was operating a 2026 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle westbound on Coach K Highway when he collided with the right side of a GoTriangle bus that was turning left onto northbound Erwin Road.
Winch was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Information about the bus driver or any injuries to passengers was not immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation.
