FLORIDA — A deadly crash involving a pedestrian has shut down a portion of U.S. 27 in Lady Lake on Tuesday morning.
According to the Town of Lady Lake, the crash occurred in the southbound lanes of U.S. 27 at Hartsock Sawmill Road. Florida 511 reports the incident happened shortly after 5 a.m.
Authorities have confirmed the crash was fatal, though no additional information about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the collision has been released.
The affected section of U.S. 27 is currently closed as officials investigate the crash and work at the scene.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use Lake Ella Road or Miller Boulevard as alternate routes until the roadway reopens.
