FLORIDA — A crash on Interstate 75 is causing significant traffic delays for Monday morning commuters.
Authorities report the crash is blocking lanes on I-75 southbound at University Parkway, forcing drivers to merge left around the scene. As crews work to clear the crash, traffic has backed up for approximately eight miles.
The congestion is causing delays of more than 30 minutes for motorists traveling through the area.
Drivers attempting to avoid the backup by taking U.S. 41 southbound are also encountering heavier-than-normal traffic and delays.
In addition, southbound traffic on the Desoto Bridge is experiencing an estimated 10-minute delay.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use caution while traveling through the area. No information about injuries or the cause of the crash has been released.
