LOUISIANA — Two people were killed and two others were critically injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on Main Street near the Interstate 110 overpass, according to Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said officers were called to the scene around 4:25 p.m. Authorities reported that two trucks were involved in the collision. Preliminary information indicates the crash may have been a T-bone collision.
Baton Rouge EMS confirmed that the coroner was called to the scene for two victims who died as a result of the crash. Two additional people were transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Police have not released the identities of those involved, and details surrounding what led to the crash remain under investigation.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area while first responders continue to work at the scene and investigators gather information.
