FLORIDA — Six people were arrested and large quantities of narcotics and multiple firearms were seized after the Volusia Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at two DeLand-area residences earlier this week.
According to investigators, deputies served warrants at homes on Grant Avenue and East Pennsylvania Avenue as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
At the Grant Avenue residence, deputies arrested 58-year-old Richard Frisbee on charges of maintaining a property for drug sales and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested were 30-year-old Ashley Kersey, who faces narcotics possession and probation violation charges, and 28-year-old Samuel McDonald, who was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
A second warrant was served at a residence on East Pennsylvania Avenue. Investigators said 37-year-old Michael T. Harris Jr., an alleged drug trafficker, was later located and arrested after initially being away from the property.
Authorities charged Harris with numerous offenses, including armed trafficking of cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone, drug manufacturing, possession of narcotics near a park or school, multiple counts of possession of firearms or ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a short-barreled rifle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two additional suspects, 33-year-old Ashley Hereid and 31-year-old Justin McClain-McDonald, were also arrested on narcotics and drug paraphernalia charges.
The sheriff’s office said deputies recovered approximately 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, 750 grams of fentanyl, 112 grams of crack cocaine, additional quantities of oxycodone, hydrocodone and Suboxone, cash and seven firearms, including a fully automatic rifle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
