
FLORIDA — More than 2,300 utility customers across Florida are without electricity Thursday morning as scattered outages continue across several parts of the state.
According to PowerOutage.us, 2,349 customers are currently without power, affecting about 0.02% of the more than 11.7 million customers tracked statewide.
Miami-Dade County is reporting the largest number of outages, with 352 customers without service. Walton County follows with 303 outages, while Leon County has 253 customers without power. Palm Beach County and Pinellas County are each reporting 243 outages, while Lee County has 176 customers without electricity.
Florida Power & Light Company is reporting the largest number of outages among utilities, with 1,530 customers without service. Duke Energy is reporting 362 outages, while the City of Tallahassee utility system has 253 customers without power and the highest percentage of customers affected among major utilities at 0.24%.
Florida currently ranks 15th in the nation for the total number of power outages, according to the outage tracking website.
Utility crews continue restoration efforts across affected areas. Residents are encouraged to report outages directly to their utility provider and avoid downed power lines, which should always be treated as energized and dangerous.
