NORTH CAROLINA — A crash on Interstate 85 in Orange County is causing traffic delays Thursday morning near the Interstate 40 interchange.
The crash occurred near Exit 163 close to I-40 near Hillsborough.
Officials said the vehicle involved in the crash had already been towed from the scene, but cleanup efforts continued as workers removed pieces of guardrail and other debris from the roadway.
At approximately 8 a.m., one lane remained closed, with traffic moving slowly through the area in the right lane.
Motorists traveling through the area were advised to expect delays. A suggested detour routes drivers to Exit 164 at South Churton Street/Old N.C. 86 and then south to Interstate 40 East.
No information on injuries has been released. The incident remains under investigation.
