VIRGINIA — One person was killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, according to Fairfax County police.
Officers responded shortly after 3:15 p.m. to the area of Old Keene Mill Road near Tiverton Drive for a reported crash.
When first responders arrived, they found an adult driver and two adult passengers involved in the wreck. Police said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two passengers were transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said one of the passengers suffered life-threatening injuries.
As police investigated the crash, eastbound Old Keene Mill Road at Hunter Village Drive was closed to traffic.
Officials have not released the identity of the deceased driver or details about what caused the vehicle to crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
