NORTH CAROLINA — A 21-year-old man is facing multiple drug charges after deputies conducting a welfare check found him passed out inside a truck in McDowell County.
According to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were patrolling the Nebo area on June 2 when they discovered Haven Michael Brown unconscious inside a truck. Deputies stopped to check on his welfare and subsequently conducted a search of Brown and the vehicle.
Authorities said the search uncovered 104 grams of marijuana, oxycodone pills, Xanax pills, and drug paraphernalia.
Brown was charged with felony possession of marijuana, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and misdemeanor simple possession of a controlled substance.
He was issued a secured bond of $20,000.
