OHIO — A crash involving a truck and a passenger vehicle on the Ohio Turnpike near the Pennsylvania state line slowed traffic Wednesday morning and sent multiple people to the hospital.

According to officials, the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the turnpike just west of the Ohio-Pennsylvania border.

First responders were dispatched to the scene of the injury crash, where traffic backups quickly developed as emergency crews worked in the area.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reported that the turnpike remains open, but motorists traveling westbound from Pennsylvania into Ohio may encounter lane closures and significant delays.

Authorities said at least four people were transported to a hospital following the crash. Information on the severity of their injuries was not immediately available.

Officials have not released details on what caused the collision, and the crash remains under investigation.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and expect delays while traveling through the area.
