ILLINOIS — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning in a crash involving a semitruck on Illinois Route 4 in Madison County, according to Illinois State Police.
The crash happened around 9:10 a.m. on Illinois Route 4 just south of the Interstate 70 interchange outside Marine.
State police said a motorcycle and a semitruck were involved in the collision. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, and additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately available.
Both lanes of Illinois Route 4 were temporarily closed while emergency crews responded and investigators processed the scene.
Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
