FLORIDA — All westbound lanes of Interstate 4 in Polk City are currently closed following a fatal multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning, according to transportation officials.
The crash occurred near Exit 44 at State Road 559, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the crash involved at least one fatality. Details about the victim and the vehicles involved have not yet been released.
As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, all westbound lanes of I-4 remained closed while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect significant delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
