
TEXAS — Three people, including a child, were killed and another child was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night in Duncanville that investigators believe was caused by street racing.
According to the Duncanville Police Department, officers responded around 8:45 p.m. to the intersection of West Wheatland Road and South Cedar Ridge Drive following reports of a serious crash involving a white Chrysler 300 and a gray Toyota Corolla.
Police said two women and two boys were inside the Corolla at the time of the collision. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. The two boys were transported to local hospitals, where one was later pronounced dead. The second boy remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The driver of the Chrysler, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, was not seriously injured, according to police.
An investigator at the scene indicated that street racing is believed to have been the likely cause of the crash. Authorities have not announced whether any charges have been filed.
The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Portions of the roadway remained closed for several hours as crash investigators processed the scene.
The Duncanville Police Department continues to investigate the crash. No additional details were immediately available.
