GEORGIA — Two people were arrested following a months-long drug investigation in White County that authorities say uncovered methamphetamine sales in the Kellum Valley community.
According to the White County Sheriff’s Office, deputies began investigating after receiving multiple complaints from residents about suspected drug activity in the area. Investigators spent five months working to identify potential suspects.
On June 3, deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Hazel Nut Drive, the home of Michael Kelly Small. Authorities said Small and Kimberly Workman were taken into custody during the operation.
Small, 60, of Cleveland, was charged with two counts of sale of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object.
Workman, 26, of Gillsville, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object. Authorities also said she had outstanding warrants from Hall and Dawson counties.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Workman was wanted on a probation violation warrant and a court warrant related to her failure to comply with conditions of a drug court program. Hall County authorities also noted that Workman was arrested in May 2025 for possession of methamphetamine, aripiprazole and marijuana.
Information regarding the Dawson County warrant was not immediately available.
The investigation remains ongoing.
