
GEORGIA — More than 4,000 illegal THC vape cartridges and approximately 1,800 pounds of marijuana were discovered hidden inside a tractor-trailer during a traffic stop on Interstate 20 in Carroll County, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
Authorities said the seizure occurred after a trooper stopped the tractor-trailer for a traffic violation. During the stop, the trooper spoke with the driver and requested assistance from a K-9 unit.
Officials said the K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal substances inside the trailer. A subsequent search led troopers to four suspicious pallets that had been concealed among other cargo being transported in the trailer.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, troopers found more than 1,800 pounds of marijuana and over 4,000 illegal THC vape cartridges hidden within the pallets.
Photos released by the agency show stacks of packaged marijuana and boxes containing vape cartridges that investigators said were recovered during the search.
Authorities have not released additional information about the driver or any potential charges connected to the seizure.
The investigation remains ongoing.
