ARKANSAS — A joint law enforcement operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 12 pounds of methamphetamine and the arrest of two individuals in Hempstead County.

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, officers from the 8th North Drug Task Force, 8th South Drug Task Force, 9th West Drug Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at a residence in Hope as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected methamphetamine distribution.

During the search, officers recovered an estimated $40,000 worth of methamphetamine.

Prince Thomas, 44, of Hope, was arrested on charges of methamphetamine trafficking, while David Bentley, 60, of Nashville, was arrested for conspiracy to commit trafficking.

“The success of this operation is a direct result of the collaboration between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies,” said Gary Dorman, Director of the 8th North Drug Task Force.

“The distribution of methamphetamine continues to be a serious threat to our communities, and we remain committed to holding traffickers accountable.”

Both suspects are being held at the Hempstead County Detention Center as they await their first court appearance.
