SOUTH CAROLINA — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting in northeast Columbia and is asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

According to the sheriff’s department, deputies were responding to a shooting scene on Summit Ridge Drive on Thursday morning.
