
VIRGINIA — An Albemarle County man has been charged with murder after authorities found his girlfriend dead inside a Buckingham County home earlier this week.
According to the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 12:07 p.m. Monday to the 1000 block of Slate River Mill Road after receiving a report of an unattended death.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman, later identified as Linda Morris, dead inside the residence.
Investigators identified Morris’ boyfriend, Anthony Ray Shifflett, as a person of interest in the case. Authorities located and arrested Shifflett in Albemarle County later Monday afternoon.
Shifflett has been charged with second-degree murder and concealing a dead body.
He is being held without bond at Piedmont Regional Jail.
Officials have not released additional details regarding Morris’ cause or manner of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
