
LOUISIANA — Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a bicyclist early Sunday morning in Baton Rouge.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the crash happened around 1:40 a.m. in the 3300 block of Winbourne Avenue. Investigators believe a dark-colored SUV was traveling westbound when it struck a bicyclist.
The bicyclist was identified as 26-year-old Tyrese Travon Singleton. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police said the driver of the SUV fled the scene before officers arrived.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are working to locate the vehicle involved. No additional information has been released.
