
TEXAS — A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while assessing damage from a minor crash on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers responded around 1:58 a.m. Sunday to Interstate 35W near East Ripy Street, the Fort Worth Police Department said.
Investigators determined the man had exited his vehicle following a minor crash when he was struck by another vehicle on the interstate.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver who struck the man fled the area following the collision. Authorities later located the suspect and made an arrest.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the initial crash or the charges the suspect may face were immediately available.
The Fort Worth Police Department continues to investigate the fatal incident.
