
SOUTH CAROLINA — A driver died after a single-vehicle crash Sunday in Anderson County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred on Abbeville Highway near Middleton Road.
According to investigators, a 1999 Nissan Maxima was traveling south on Abbeville Highway when it veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said the driver later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
No additional details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway were immediately available.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal crash.
