TEXAS — One person was hospitalized after a single-vehicle rollover crash caused traffic delays on Interstate 10 in Beaumont on Sunday afternoon, according to police.
The crash occurred around 1:17 p.m. on the southbound lanes of Interstate 10, according to Beaumont Police Department Officer Chancellor Van Houten.
Investigators said a white SUV lost control, struck the inside barrier and rolled over multiple times before coming to rest near the service road close to the Lupe Tortilla restaurant.
Police said four people were inside the SUV at the time of the crash.
One occupant was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and was reported to be in stable condition. Information on the conditions of the other occupants was not immediately released.
The crash caused traffic backups in the area as Beaumont police officers responded to the scene and managed traffic.
Authorities have not released additional details about what caused the SUV to lose control.
The crash remains under investigation.
