
TENNESSEE — A joint investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of one person and the seizure of more than 85 grams of fentanyl in Monroe County, according to Sheriff Tommy Jones.
Authorities said the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the Madisonville, Sweetwater and Vonore police departments while executing a search warrant in the Oak Grove Road area near Madisonville.
During the search, investigators seized more than 85 grams of fentanyl, along with an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and marijuana. Officers also recovered various items of drug paraphernalia. A photograph released by the sheriff’s office showed cash among the items seized.
One suspect was taken into custody and is facing multiple felony charges. Officials have not released the suspect’s identity.
Law enforcement officials said additional charges and arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
The investigation remains ongoing.
