MARYLAND — A double shooting in south Baltimore early Saturday morning left one man dead and another injured, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Police said officers responded around 3:40 a.m. May 30 to a reported shooting in the 2900 block of Spellman Road. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, identified as 21-year-old Tyriel Simms, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
The second victim, also a 21-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said he is expected to survive his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation.
