INDIANA — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday morning after colliding with a deer in Fort Wayne, according to police.
The crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of West Jefferson Boulevard and Rolling Hills Parkway.
The Fort Wayne Police Department said officers responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist down following the crash. The rider was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Police said the motorcyclist struck a deer before crashing. No additional information about the rider’s identity or current condition was immediately available.
West Jefferson Boulevard was temporarily closed at Liberty Mills Road while officers investigated the incident. The roadway has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
