SOUTH CAROLINA — Several South Carolina public school districts are wrapping up the 2025-26 school year this week, with official district calendars showing final student days on Thursday, May 28.
Dorchester School District Two’s approved 2025-26 calendar lists May 28, 2026 as “End of 4th Quarter / 2nd Semester / Last Day / Half Day.” The calendar then lists May 29 as a staff day and weather makeup day with no students.
Edgefield County School District’s district calendar lists Thursday, May 28, 2026 as “Half Day for Students (Last Day of School).” The calendar also shows graduation activities scheduled May 29.
Marion County School District’s calendar shows students attending half days on May 27 and May 28, 2026, with staff development days beginning May 29.
The calendars mean students in those South Carolina districts will begin summer break by the end of the week, while teachers and staff continue with post-planning duties, graduations and end-of-year activities after classes conclude.
