NORTH CAROLINA — Several North Carolina public school calendars show students finishing the 2025-26 school year this week, with verified final student days falling on Friday, May 29.
Stokes County Schools has a public school calendar entry listing “Last Day of School” on May 29, 2026. Haywood County Schools also lists May 29, 2026, as “HCS – Last day for students.”
Coast to Mountains Preparatory Academy lists May 29 as the end of the fourth quarter, end of the second semester and “Last Day for Students.”
The calendars mean students in those districts and schools will begin summer break after classes conclude Friday. Some calendars also list graduations, teacher workdays or grade deadlines immediately after the final student day.
