
KENTUCKY — A number of Kentucky public school districts are wrapping up the 2025-26 school year this week, with calendars showing final student days on either Thursday, May 28, or Friday, May 29.
Districts listing Thursday, May 28, 2026 as the final day for students include McCracken County Public Schools, where the district calendar marks May 28 as the last student attendance day pending no additional makeup days.
Marshall County Schools also lists May 28 as the final student day for the 2025-26 school year.
Several Kentucky districts are scheduled to finish classes on Friday, May 29, 2026. Those include Hardin County Schools, where the approved calendar lists May 29 as the final day for students and teachers.
Other districts with May 29 end dates include Bullitt County Public Schools and Elizabethtown Independent Schools, according to their published academic calendars.
Many Kentucky districts closing this week also have graduation ceremonies, teacher workdays, closing day activities and records days scheduled immediately after students begin summer break. Several districts note that the final dates remain subject to change if additional weather makeup days become necessary.
