
FLORIDA — Nearly 8,000 homes and businesses across Florida are without power Sunday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 7,954 customers statewide are affected by outages out of more than 11.8 million tracked customers. Florida currently has the second-highest number of reported outages in the country, with about 0.07% of customers statewide without electricity.
Hillsborough County reports the largest number of outages with 2,923 customers affected. St. Lucie County follows with 1,601 outages, while Marion County reports 1,305 customers without power. Seminole County has 394 outages, and Orange County reports 302 customers affected.
Among utility providers, Tampa Electric reports the most outages statewide with 2,927 customers without service. Duke Energy reports 2,275 outages, while Fort Pierce Utilities Authority has 1,601 customers affected. Florida Power & Light Company reports 910 outages across its coverage area.
PowerOutage.us said Fort Pierce Utilities Authority currently has the highest percentage of customers affected, with 5.55% of its customers without power.
Utility crews continue working to restore service as outage numbers are updated throughout the morning.
