Thousands without power in Texas

TEXAS — More than 9,400 homes and businesses across Texas are without power Sunday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 9,453 customers statewide are affected by outages out of more than 15.6 million tracked customers. Texas currently has the highest number of reported outages in the nation, though only about 0.06% of customers statewide are impacted.

Dallas County reports the largest number of outages with 1,916 customers without electricity. Hardeman County follows closely with 1,762 outages and has the highest percentage of customers affected, with nearly 46% of tracked customers without power.

Jefferson County reports 1,699 outages, while Tarrant County has 1,659 customers affected. Harris County, the state’s most populous county, reports 686 outages.

Among utility providers, Oncor has the highest number of customers without power at 3,765. Entergy reports 2,297 outages, while American Electric Power Texas has 1,937 customers affected. CenterPoint Energy reports 986 outages statewide.

PowerOutage.us said outage numbers are updated regularly as utilities work to restore service across the state.
